Since long years and for many Jazz-Fans in the Rhein-Main-area and way beyond the name John Defferary is known. John Defferary

John has for more than 20 years been working with the well known Chris Barber Jazzband as clarinett-player and Saxophonist, exciting many of their fans with his touchy way of playing for years.

In 2006 John met with Bertino Rodmann thru a classified-ad, who was searching for musicians for his band. John was emmediately interested and jumped in.

Johns admiration for the music of the Sinti and Roma has a long Tradition. Already in the early 80ies and 90ies he played together with guys like Mike Reinhardt (one Grand-son of Django Reinhardt) in Koblenz or in Paris with know guitarrists like Dorado Schmitt and Christophe Rano Ziegler. In Schweden he met with Andreas Öberg for a concert.

His passionate and touchy way of playing on the clarinet reminds very often to Hubert Rostaing (the clarinettist of HCDF), one of the great idols of John Defferary. Nevertheless has he found his own way of expression and deepness in his playing.
